Chronic Pain Sufferer Completes Cross Country Walk to
Raise Awareness

Dennis Kinch suffers from chronic pain caused by two progressive diseases that affect his spine and joints. Yet, on July 14, 2006, he completed a 2,400 mile walk from Chicago to Los Angeles that took him nearly ten months.

Kinch completed the walk to help bring attention to pain issues and the treatment and support that are available to chronic pain patients. Along the route, he stopped at several pain clinics to visit with fellow pain sufferers, listen to their stories, and inform them of the resources available through the National Pain Foundation (NPF).

According to the NPF, 43% of American households have one or more members afflicted with chronic pain, a total of about 75 million people. Kinch’s message to them is, “There’s an illusion of pain…it can be controlled.”

The National Pain Foundation provides online education and support for persons in pain, their families and physicians. Read more about Kinch’s walk and NPF resources at www.NationalPainFoundation.org.
