Significant New Enhancement Strengthens MACI™ Test

New Grossman Facet Scales provide greater interpretive depth to the personality scales of the MACI assessment

July 18, 2006, Bloomington, MN – Mental health professionals who work with teens have for years used the MACI (Millon™ Adolescent Clinical Inventory) test for its reliable clinical information. Test author Theodore Millon, Ph.D., and test publisher Pearson Assessments have now added a set of subscales – the new Grossman Facet Scales – that will help clinicians provide more insightful interpretations of test results.

Developed by Seth Grossman, PsyD, the Grossman Facet Scales identify personality processes, such as self-image, interpersonal conduct, and mood/temperament that underlie overall scale elevations on the MACI personality pattern scales. Each personality twelve scales now has three facet scales for which results are presented in the automated reports.

The MACI test is one of the Millon series of clinical inventories that are based on the ground-breaking theory of personality and psychopathology of Dr. Millon and have defined the measurement of Axis II disorders for more than 30 years. The MACI test was developed specifically for teens, using an age-appropriate format, to help measure factors associated with adolescence, including peer insecurity, sexual discomfort, body disapproval, eating dysfunctions, and proneness to substance abuse.

The inclusion of the Grossman Facet Scales in the MACI test represents one of a host of recent and upcoming advances underway for the Millon Clinical Inventories, which include:

  • The new M-PACI™ (Millon Pre-Adolescent Clinical Inventory) assessment designed to help detect early signs of Axis I and Axis II disorders in children ages 9-12
  • The addition of Grossman Facet Scales to the MCMI-III (Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory)
  • Bariatric norms for the MBMD™ (Millon Behavioral Medicine Diagnostic) test, available Summer, 2006
  • Release of the new MCCI™ (Millon College Counseling Inventory) assessment, expected Winter, 2006 For more information about the MACI test or any of the full suite of Millon instruments, available only from Pearson Assessments, call (800) 627-7271 or visit www.pearsonassessments.com/tests/maci.htm.
