GAMA Non-verbal IQ Test Reliably Measures Intellectual Ability of Individuals From Diverse Populations

August 3, 2000, MINNEAPOLIS—Achilles N. Bardos, PhD, will present "Assessing the Cognitive Ability of Diverse Populations Using Non-Verbal IQ Tests" at the 24th National Conference on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC), held September 9–13, 2000 at the America's Convention Center in St. Louis, Mo.

Dr. Bardos will discuss the nature of nonverbal ability IQ tests and their uses in the correctional health setting, and present results of his recent research, which further validates the applicability of a nonverbal test with diverse populations.

The nonverbal intelligence test used in Bardos' research is the GAMA (General Ability Measure for Adults) assessment, of which Bardos is a co-author. Bardos is Associate Professor and Director of Training for the school psychology program at the University of Northern Colorado.
