October 4, 2005, MINNEAPOLIS—The University of Minnesota Press and Pearson Assessments announce the release of a revision to the widely used MMPI-2™ (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2™) interpretive report series for mental health settings.

The Minnesota Report: Adult Clinical System—Revised, 4th Edition provides expanded narrative sections incorporating current research. And, the 4th edition adds Alcohol and Drug Treatment as the newest of the 7 mental health setting-specific reports now available for selection by practitioners:

MMPI-2 expert James N. Butcher, PhD, developed The Minnesota Report: Adult Clinical System more than 20 years ago. Dr. Butcher continues to improve the report as new research becomes available to remain responsive to clinicians’ current needs. The 4th Edition is based on more than 40,000 mental health cases, providing a strong foundation from which to develop the reports.

In addition, Dr. Butcher updated the User’s Guide to help clinicians better understand, compare, and evaluate a client’s profile. In the updated User’s Guide, he documents the goals and composition of the reports, including the normal and clinical samples used to develop the frequency information.
