Psychological Test Helps Anticipate Offenders’ Needs and Behaviors
MCMI-III Corrections Report Enhancements Developed from Study Involving more than 10,000 Inmates
October 23, 2003 Minneapolis, MN—Pearson Assessments announces new enhancements to the MCMI-III (Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-III) Corrections Report. The enhancements include empirical statements that can help corrections officials anticipate offenders’ probable need for mental health intervention, substance abuse treatment, and anger management services.
Based on results of recent research that involved more than 10,000 offenders, these statements are designed to help support crucial programming and placement decisions, and help prison personnel more accurately anticipate management, staffing, and budgetary needs.
Issues of Concern in Corrections Settings
In addition, the MCMI-III Corrections Report provides clinically based statements related to six issues of concern in corrections settings:
- Reaction to Authority
- Escape Risk
- Disposition to Malinger
- Response to Crowding/Isolation
