Here's a step-by-step guide to choosing your TN Universal Reading Screener

We are pleased to partner with you in your K-3 Tennessee Universal Reading Screener (TN-URS) initiatives. With this initiative, aimswebPlus, (reading, math, and spelling), Shaywitz DyslexiaScreen, the Dyslexia Probability Calculator (PDF | 873.87 KB), and Rapid Automatized Naming (RAN) (PDF | 934.81 KB) are included at no cost for grades K-3 and support real-time monitoring of progress, enabling educators like you to adjust instruction and provide the appropriate interventions crucial for success in later grades.

Consider this your “one stop shop” for information related to ordering, training, and implementation to help you prepare for the upcoming school year.

During this webinar you will learn the necessary management responsibilities, information about user types, and options for rostering and user set-up. You will learn more about the literacy assessments that are available in aimswebPlus and how these can fit into your district assessment schedules. This webinar will also discuss the included training options and supports that are available throughout the 2024-25 school year.

TN URS Account Rostering 2024-25

During this 1-hour webinar, participants will learn how to successfully import student and user data by Manual Import and Automated Batch Import (ABI) when using the aimswebPlus platform. This training will also share information regarding Rostering as a Service (RAAS) and technology requirements. Account managers and school leaders are encouraged to attend this session to learn about our two importing options and best practices when importing student and user data.

TN URS Literacy Test Administration 2024-25

This webinar discusses how to administer and score each K-3 literacy measure. We will begin with measures that are administered one-to-one with students and scored using Digital Record Forms in aimswebPlus. Next, you will learn how to administer and score paper/pencil measures. Finally, you will learn how to administer measures administered through the student test-delivery application called TestNav. Standardized test administration is important to receiving valid and reliable test results, so we encourage all test administrators to join whether they are new to aimswebPlus or experienced users who need a refresher.

This one-hour webinar will help your school-based data teams analyze screening data and identify students who are at risk and in need of intervention. You will examine how to read and analyze norm-referenced and criterion-referenced reports by district, school, and class levels across a variety of group reports. You will also learn how aimswebPlus reports will assist with differentiating instruction and developing targeted interventions.

TN URS Progress Monitoring 2024-25

During this one-hour webinar in which you will learn the essentials of progress monitor scheduling and goal setting. Within the scope of scheduling, you will learn to select monitoring measures of appropriate skills and levels for each student using survey level assessment. You can use this data to determine baseline scores, duration and frequency of data collection, and intervention selection. It is important to set meaningful goals to monitor student growth and the impact of interventions that you provide.

TN URS and Dyslexia Screening 2024-25

Did you know that the TN Universal Screener includes additional measures to screen students for Dyslexia? During this webinar we introduced the Shaywitz DyslexiaScreen teacher rating form and the Rapid Automatized Naming (RAN) measures available through aimswebPlus. Included are details on how to complete, administer, and score each of these measures. You can investigate additional reports that are a valuable set of tools to add to your assessment processes.

The TN DOE assessment team, including our psychometricians, have reviewed the technical specifications for these assessments. The validity and reliability of the computer adaptive assessments are equal to, if not better than, the previous linear versions. We have no current concerns about the accuracy of this test and the data it produces. Utilizing the same test across districts allows us to have confidence in the comparisons and reporting across the state. 4. Tennessee Universal Reading Screener Data Requirements

Thank you for selecting aimsweb™Plus as your reading screener. As part of the requirements under the Literacy Success Act, student data must be submitted to the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) within two weeks of the conclusion of the screening window (fall, winter, spring, and summer). aimswebPlus will submit this data on your behalf in the TDOE-required file layout.

To comply with the Literacy Success Act, there are three (3) data elements that must be entered into aimswebPlus by each district so the data can then be provided to TDOE at the conclusion of each screener window. All three (3) of the fields listed below must be the state-assigned values, not a locally assigned value.
