Standard-level instructional resources to support personalized instruction
The Navvy classroom assessment system includes instructional resources to address the “what now” question teachers are often faced with when a student or group of students did not learn a standard during primary instruction. These learning resources within Navvy are highly targeted to a given standard so they can support specific unfinished learning pinpointed by Navvy’s standard-by-standard assessments. These were built to target a standard in a different way than what would be seen in primary curriculum, complementing classroom instruction with short, engaging, and readily applied strategies, activities, and materials for students needing more support.
Each instructional toolkit targets a standard and includes four pieces:
A Standard Starter that offers the teacher information about the standard’s components, key terms, common misconceptions, and progression
A Classroom Connection, or strategy, that can be easily incorporated into different learning contexts
A teacher-facilitated activity aligned to the standard for group instruction
An independent activity for students to practice and reinforce skills
