Pearson has appointed Trent Workman to Managing Director of Pearson US School Assessment. Trent, formerly Senior Vice President of Pearson US School Assessment, brings nearly two decades of experience in educational assessment, leadership, strategy, and business development to this role. He joined Pearson in 2006.
Pearson US School Assessment works with state departments of education and school districts to implement their K-12 school assessment programs. In the 2024-2025 school year Pearson will help develop, deliver, and score over 60 million digital and paper assessments across 23 states and territories and via 2,600 direct district partnerships.
"I am honored to lead Pearson's US School Assessment team," said Trent Workman. "Our focus is clear: empowering educators with high quality assessment tools and data-driven insights to help every student succeed. Working alongside our incredible team of Pearson Assessment experts in teaching and learning, assessment development, and technology means I get to learn just as much as I lead—and that's what makes this role especially exciting."
Throughout his tenure in School Assessment, Trent has been instrumental in the digital transformation of assessment programs, notably helping partners move from paper to online testing, from human scoring to human combined with automated scoring, and the introduction of new assessment product offerings. He consistently prioritizes accessibility, ease of use for all stakeholders, and a student-centric approach.
Trent earned both his MBA and BA in Business Administration from the University of Iowa. Outside the office he is a proud husband and dad to three adventurous elementary and middle school-aged kids.
Sharon Hague, who previously led Pearson US School Assessment, has been promoted to President of English Language Learning at Pearson. Sharon will also serve as Pearson’s UK CEO, leading the company’s corporate presence in the UK.
