WriteToLearn Best of Show, ISTE 2016 Tech & Learning
by Jana Bennett
We are so excited about our ISTE 2016 Tech & Learning "Best of Show" award. This is a huge honor as this generally set for brand new sparkly products. It just goes to show you, that WriteToLearn continues to turn heads as it evolves with all the educational changes of its 10 year history as an educational writing practice tool.
As you know, International Society for Technology in Education Conference and Expo or best known as ISTE, is a highly attended event with more than 16,000 attendees from across the United States made up of administrators and teachers who seek out what's new in school tools. It's a great time of the year to showcase our 'best of show' as they determine what new tools they'd like to have in their classrooms.
Tech & Learning sponsors a "Best of Show" award, to serve as a way to seek out the best of the best on the Expo floor, run their own analysis and share their results to help inform those that may have not gotten around to the more than 500 exhibitors on the Expo floor, or attend the approximately 1,000 sessions. So much to see and do in a 3-day period of time!
The nomination process is simple. We completed a form and paid a minimal entry fee. There are no restrictions on the number of entries received, and this being the third annual event received an increase in entries from a variety of educational products and tools. From here a panel of anonymous judges scour the exhibit hall to seek out the products nominated to rate their impressions on a sliding scale, evaluating areas such as quality and effectiveness, ease of use and creative use of technology. Then they gather in person to decide which technologies will have the most impact in the classroom and deserve to be named Best of Show.
The list of winners are announced at the close of ISTE and listed on Tech & Learning's web site, then featured in the August issue of Tech & Learning.
