As schools continue to re-open, the academic and social-emotional impact of current events on our students is becoming increasingly clear. In order to ensure the support measures that your school is implementing are effective, progress monitoring is going to be imperative in the coming months.
Progress monitoring information can come from several sources:
- Teacher observation: Teachers can observe student performance as well as use formative methods and assessments to track student behavior.
- Parent/caregiver feedback: With many students at home at least part time, educators are relying on parents and caregivers to help them identify and understand what their students need.
- Student perspective: Oftentimes, students’ own perspective of the emotional and behavioral support they’re receiving is a very clear window into its effectiveness.
