Nick Alderman, PhD

Nick is a graduate of the University of Kent at Canterbury and subsequently completed clinical psychology training at the University of Glasgow. He was awarded his PhD at the University of Southampton in 1995. 

Nick holds several honorary university appointments and has successfully supervised PhD, MS and DClinPsych postgraduate students to completion.

In 2002, Nick was awarded a Fellowship of the British Psychological Society in recognition of his significant contribution to the developing field of rehabilitation of people recovering from severe brain injury.

Nick is regularly invited to speak at seminars, workshops and conferences regarding his acknowledged areas of clinical expertise. He is author or co-author of over 50 journal papers and book chapters, and co-author of the BADS, a well known published test of executive functioning. He is currently a member of the editorial board of the journal ‘Neuropsychological Rehabilitation’.

Nick is a chartered psychologist, chartered scientist, and a practitioner full member of the Division of Neuropsychology of the British Psychological Society. He is associate director of neurobehavioural rehabilitation and research, consultant clinical neuropsychologist and specialty lead at the National Brain Injury Centre, St Andrew’s Healthcare, Northampton, UK.
