Joetta M. Beaver
Joetta M. Beaver is the primary author of the Developmental Reading Assessment® (DRA2) Grades K–3 and the DRA Word Analysis, and the. She is also the co-author of the Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA2) Grades 4–8, and the Progress Monitoring Assessment.
Through her thirty year career, Joetta held various educational positions, including classroom teacher (Grades K–5), reading teacher (Grades 2–6), Reading Recovery teacher leader, Grades K–5 Language Arts and Assessment coordinator, and Early Education teacher-leader.
Joetta received both her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Reading from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Over the years, she conducted in-service training and presented at a variety of conferences throughout the United States and Canada on topics such as Using Assessments to Drive Instruction, Supporting Emergent Readers and Writers in the Classroom, and Changes over Time in Reading and Writing. She is currently retired and enjoying time with family and friends as well as helping ministries and educators as needed.
